IIM Entrance Exams 2025
IIMs conduct multiple entrance tests for admission into their various programs:
- IPMAT (Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test) for 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak.
- JIPMAT (Joint IPMAT) for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.
- CAT (Common Admission Test) for post-graduate programs like MBA/PGDM across all IIMs.
- CAP (Common Admission Process) is the final selection process for early performing and new generation IIMs.

IPMAT (IIM Indore & Rohtak)
- Registration: 14 Feb – 1 Apr 2025 (extended till 1 Apr at 5 PM)
- Admit Card: 28 Apr 2025
- Exam Date: 12 May 2025
- Results: July 2025
JIPMAT (IIM Bodh Gaya & Jammu)
- Exam: 26 Apr 2025 (Results out 24 May 2025)
CAT (All IIMs & MBA Admission)
- Notification Released: 27 July 2025
- Registration: 1 Aug – 13 Sept 2025
- Admit Card: From 5 Nov 2025 to exam day
- Exam Date: 30 Nov 2025 (Sunday)
- Result: Expected 2nd week January 2026
Eligibility & Target Programs
IPMAT 2025
- For admission to the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore & Rohtak.
- Candidates must be Class XII pass-outs, typically up to 20 years of age, relaxable for reserved categories.
JIPMAT 2025
- For IPM programs at IIM Jammu & Bodh Gaya.
- Requires Class XII pass, strong academic record, and aptitude.
CAT 2025
- For post-graduate Admissison, requirements include a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). No age limit.
CAP 2025
- Final selection for candidates shortlisted after CAT, PI/WAT conducted by 8 IIMs including Bodh Gaya, Jammu, Ranchi, Nagpur, etc.
Exam Patterns & Syllabus
IPMAT / JIPMAT
- Structure: Sectional tests in Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Focus is on analytical and foundational reasoning for IPM entry.
CAT
- Sections: VARC (Verbal), DILR (Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning), QA (Quantitative).
- Duration: 120 minutes (40 mins per section), mix of MCQs and TITA items.
- No age limit and registration open to final year students.
CAP
- Post-CAT selection involves WAT (Written Ability Test) and PI (Personal Interview), plus academic and diversity scores.
- Specific to 8 IIMs using CAP 2025 process.

- CAT + CAP: Selection based on CAT percentile followed by WAT-PI and CAP composite scoring.
